Behold: The Vast Zionist Conspiracy!

Zionist plot uncovered!

I uncovered it first! Must credit Lumpy, Grumpy and Frumpy! Proof at last!
"Next month, Prof. Ada Yonath will be awarded the Nobel Prize in chemistry, becoming the fifth Israeli scientist to win this award. This has sharpened, once again, the grim statistics regarding the scarcity of Nobel laureates in the Muslim and Arab worlds. While Jews, who are only around 0.2 percent of the world population, have won a quarter of all Nobel Prizes awarded in the sciences, Muslims, who are one quarter of the world population, have won only a handful, even by the most generous accounts. And while relative to its size, Israel's tiny academia has been the world's leading Nobel power over the past decade, Arab universities have yet to produce their first Nobel laureate...

"The truth is that a certain type of Jew has won Nobel Prizes. These Jewish laureates drew on a Jewish heritage that dedicates itself to learning, reveres scholars and places intellectual demands on its young people. But these laureates were also modern Jews, open to modern sciences and rational thinking, and keen on making their way in the greater world that exists beyond their communities."
More here.

An astute commenter at the Jerusalem Post reveals the real reason Muslims aren't winning Nobel Prizes: it's a conspiracy! (Don't ask me why his computer didn't explode and kill him the instant he pressed "send" on this message; there must have been a failure in the VZC system.)
"10. There is one area of Arab contribution that is consistently overlooked by the Nobel prize committee: Clearly, some Lebanese chef/peasant/street vendor/whatever is deserving of a Nobel prize (perhaps in chemistry) for having invented hummus. And this single fact underscores the fact that the reason so many Jews (and so few Arabs/Muslims) have been awarded the Nobel is that there is an obvious conspiracy at play here."
Remember: every time we deny the genius and true origins of Falafel, a Gazan or West Bankian baby cries real crocodile tears.

(Hat tip: You know who you are.)
